Type 5 Extra Long Adjustable Quick Disconnect Sway Bar Links

Built for longer sway bar link applications, RedRunner Designs Type 5 Quick Disconnect Sway Bar Links are essentially the extra long version of our Type 1 design.

They use the same proven slip joint quick disconnect layout, but in a much longer adjustable package for vehicles that need more link length than our standard Type 1 setup can provide.

Type 5 links are designed for applications such as lifted Jeep XJ, ZJ, and MJ models, selected Ford Raptor setups, and other vehicles with longer sway bar link requirements.

These links are adjustable, rebuildable, and now finished in black zinc coating for improved corrosion resistance and a cleaner appearance.

Quick Disconnect Pin Options

Type 5 links are available with two quick disconnect pin options.

Both options use a 7/16 inch slip joint and heim joint setup.

7/16 Inch Quick Disconnect Pin

• 15.25 mm usable thread
• Approximately 0.60 inch usable thread
• Best suited for thinner mounting points or smaller tab style mounts

12 mm Quick Disconnect Pin

• 38 mm usable thread
• Approximately 1.5 inches usable thread
• Better suited for thicker mounting points, recessed mounts, or stacked hardware

Usable thread is the remaining threaded mounting space available after the nut, washer, and proper nyloc engagement are accounted for.

For 1st Gen Ford Raptors, the 12 mm quick disconnect pin is the recommended option.

If you are not sure which pin size you need, choose the 12 mm pin or contact us before ordering with photos of your sway bar mounting points.

Common Applications

Type 5 links are intended for longer sway bar link applications where our Type 1 links are not long enough.

Currently confirmed fitment is limited. These links have been tested on a Jeep XJ with a 3 inch lift and are being tested on multiple 1st Gen Ford Raptor setups.

Important Safety Notice

You are responsible for securely supporting the sway bar when it is disconnected. Depending on the vehicle and suspension setup, an unsecured sway bar may contact surrounding suspension, steering, axle, or brake components.

Always secure the sway bar before driving.

You may also disconnect only one side, leaving the opposite link connected to help support the sway bar while providing the same disconnect effect.
