What started as a prototype for Jeeps and the Toyota RAV4 has grown into one of the most universal sway bar link systems we offer.

RedRunner Designs Type 4 Quick Disconnect Sway Bar Links use an adjustable double heim design that can be built in a wide range of lengths and configured with either 7/16 inch or 12 mm quick disconnect pins.

From Jeeps and compact SUVs to full size trucks, larger SUVs, and even some SxS applications, the Type 4 system is designed for vehicles that need a strong, adjustable link with the ability to quickly disconnect the sway bar for more suspension articulation off road.

7/16 Inch Pin — Gold Bolt

15.25 mm usable thread
Approximately 0.60 inch usable thread
Best suited for thinner mounting points or tabs

12 mm Pin

38 mm usable thread
Approximately 1.5 inches usable thread
Better suited for thicker mounting points, brackets, or stacked hardware

Usable thread is the remaining threaded mounting space available after the nut, washer, and proper nyloc engagement are accounted for.

Because Type 4 links are available in multiple lengths and two pin sizes, the correct setup depends on your vehicle, mounting points, and suspension configuration.

If you do not see your vehicle listed, send us your year, make, model, current sway bar link mounting length, mounting point thickness, and photos of both mounting points. We will help you determine the correct RedRunner setup.

⚠️ IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE

You are responsible for securely supporting the sway bar when it is disconnected. Depending on the vehicle and suspension setup, an unsecured sway bar may contact the CV axle or CV boot.

Always secure the sway bar before driving.

You may also disconnect only one side, leaving the opposite link connected to help support the sway bar while providing the same disconnect effect.
