Built for the Trail: The Story Behind RedRunner Designs

From a Simple Fix to a Full-Blown Off-Road Brand
Every off-road build starts with an idea; a quick fix, a weekend project, or a spark of curiosity that turns into something bigger.
For RedRunner Designs, it all began in 2017 when Tym bought a stock 1997 Toyota 4Runner. The plan was simple: lift it, add some tires, and hit the trails. But like most great projects, that “simple” plan didn’t last long.
After snapping one too many stock sway bar links, Tym decided to build his own out of scrap metal in the garage. It was a small moment of problem-solving — but it changed everything. The new links were stronger, better built, and performed flawlessly on and off-road. Friends started asking for a set, then friends of friends, and soon enough, RedRunner Designs was born.
Engineered for Enthusiasts, by Enthusiasts
From day one, RedRunner Designs has been about more than just parts — it’s about passion. Every sway bar link we make is machine-built, hand-assembled, and tested to ensure it holds up to real-world off-road conditions.
We use aerospace-grade materials and FK Bearing heims, and all our hardware is American-sourced and manufactured. The result? Adjustable, rebuildable links that outperform the factory setup and keep your rig stable, strong, and ready for any adventure.
While Toyotas will always be our roots, RedRunner Designs has expanded far beyond that platform. We now offer links for Jeeps, trucks, SUVs, and side-by-sides, bringing RedRunner reliability to off-roaders of all kinds.
Built in the USA. Tested on the Trail.
We’re proud to design, machine, and assemble every link right here in the United States. This isn’t a mass-produced operation — it’s a hands-on process backed by precision craftsmanship and genuine pride.
When you bolt on a set of RedRunner links, you’re not just installing a part. You’re installing something designed by people who live the off-road lifestyle — people who spend their weekends on the same trails, pushing their rigs to the limit.
More Than a Brand — It’s a Community
Over the years, RedRunner Designs has grown into more than a parts company. Through events like Rigs & Relics, collaborations with other small businesses, and countless customer builds, we’ve built a community of enthusiasts who share one thing in common — a love for adventure.
We’re proud to support that community with high-quality gear, upcoming merch drops (stickers, patches, pins, and apparel), and off-road events that bring people together.
What’s Next for RedRunner Designs
This year marks a new chapter for RedRunner Designs as we launch our new website and expanded product line. You’ll now find our entire collection of sway bar links, rebuild kits, and builder parts in one place — with even more to come.
We’re continuing to innovate, explore new designs, and expand into more platforms while keeping one thing the same: our commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and community.
Because at the end of the day, RedRunner Designs isn’t just about what you drive — it’s about where your rig can take you.
